Agents on Wave Field: Simulation of Traffic on Train Station
In this paper, we would like to simulate typical 2 behaviour of people in traffic at train station. To avoid combinatorial problem, we adopt VPM architecture. An information is represented by progressive wave on traditional wave field. The Agent has virtual sensors by FFT and retrieves information from the wave field. Also, agent can propagate information as like as sing a song. Our simulation ...
متن کاملEfficient dispatching rules on double tracks with heterogeneous train traffic
The most natural and popular dispatching rule for double-track segments is to dedicate one track for trains traveling in one direction. However, sometimes passenger trains have to share some portions of the railway with freight trains and passenger trains are traveling faster and faster nowadays. The major drawback of this dedicated rule is that a fast train can be caught behind a slow train an...
متن کاملHolistic optimization of train traffic by integration of automatic train operation with centralized train management
Nowadays, railways are confronted with numerous pressing problems, including capacity optimization, energy conservation, cost reduction and improving customer satisfaction. While the traditional railway is a very safe means of transportation, it still cannot meet all these requirements. Hence there are high interests in two available systems to overcome these challenges: Traffic Management Syst...
متن کاملA survey on SNCF decision support system tools to supervise and to pilot train traffic in operation
In recent years, the SNCF Research Department has developed five different tools to monitor production operations. This supervision has the potential to affect the whole production process. This article will present the role played by the supervisory function in the production process and explain how this function contributes towards making the production process more efficient. In the second p...
متن کاملGrouping and Assignment of Barges
Two integer-programming models are presented which optimize barge groupings into cost efficient configurations for transit. First a grouping IP is used to cluster barges with similar characteristics such as origin port, destination port, and pickup time so as to minimize dwell and handling cost. Next an assignment IP is used to assign groups to tow boats to minimize travel costs.
